How did Global Entrepreneurship Week start?
The week emerged from the realization that many internal entrepreneurs had difficulties developing their sustainable projects within the companies they worked for. The problem is that they are trying to create something completely new within an organization that is stuck with words like leadership, control, efficiency and production. Often, these structures do not enable their proposals. It was in order to act on these concerns and resolve their suspicions that the event was created.

How does the week help these employees?
in several ways. The first is that we celebrate internal entrepreneurship, recognize its presence in the community, and it really is an important step. We also revitalize inner entrepreneurs through lectures, talks and reflection moments. Finally, we hold workshops to help these professionals get their hands off and give a boost to their projects. The meeting also has the function of communicating with people scattered all over the world, for the same purposes. There are in-house entrepreneurs focusing on gender diversity, others on climate change, and others fighting inequality. When you participate in these exchanges, you can speed up the process and work collectively.

For some people, the pandemic has brought about driving changes: quitting their jobs, moving to another city and searching for a better quality of life, for example. But our suggestion is to show that it is possible to change without having to leave the company. Oftentimes, the transformation is within ourselves. How can internal entrepreneurship improve corporate performance?
Statistics show that more than 80% of employees around the world are not engaged in their jobs. They are there only as a body and not with a mind. And then they end up being zero-productive. The beauty of internal entrepreneurship is the ability to combine, within organizations, not only the efficiency and results of their employees, but also their creativity. When the executives are free to carry out their projects, the company gains participation and productivity.
