Brazil recorded nearly 20,000 new cases of dengue fever in 24 hours

Health confirms 4 new deaths during the period; In total, 40 people died from the disease in 10 states and the Federal District

During the past 24 hours, 19,353 new probable cases of dengue were reported in Brazil. Update made by Ministry of Health Tuesday (February 6, 2024) shows that in 2024, there will already be 364,855 infections in the country. There were 345,235 on Monday (February 5).

4 more deaths were confirmed, 2 in Minas Gerais and 2 in the Federal District. Both lead to the largest number of victims. The total in the country is 40. Figures are available here.

In the face of a worsening dengue fever situation, Health Minister Nicia Trindade will speak on national television at 8:30pm on Tuesday (February 6). The letter must include instructions for combating the disease and announcing the ministry’s measures. On Saturday (February 3), she announced that the situation could not yet be considered a national emergency.
