Active cases drop to 9,000 in Curitiba, but the SUS ICU network continues to collapse

The Municipal Health Department of Curitiba recorded, on Wednesday (9), 919 new cases of the emerging coronavirus, and 25 deaths for the city’s residents infected with the novel coronavirus. There have been 17 deaths in the last 48 hours.

The victims are 17 men and eight women, aged between 3 and 94. Fourteen people were under the age of sixty. So far there have been 5,656 deaths in the city from the disease in this pandemic period.

With the new confirmed cases, 223,110 residents of Curitiba have tested positive for COVID-19 since the beginning of the epidemic, of whom 207,713 have been released from isolation and have not shown symptoms of the disease.

There are 9,741 active cases in the city, which corresponds to the number of people who have the potential to transmit the virus.

SUS family

This Wednesday (9), the occupancy rate of 542 exclusive ICU SUS beds for covid-19 was 102%.

The occupancy rate for the 746-bed SUS covid-19 suites is 96%. There are 28 vacant beds.

The SMS shows that data on household occupancy in Curitiba is dynamic, with changes occurring throughout the day.
