    t t – British Secretary of State for Transport, Grant Shapps, announced on Tuesday that his country had criminalized the entry of Russian aircraft into British airspace.

    “I have made it a criminal offense for any Russian aircraft to enter UK airspace, and Her Majesty’s Government can now intercept these aircraft,” he said in a tweet.

    He added: “We will stifle the ability of those close to Putin to continue life normally while thousands of innocent people die.”

    On February 25, the day after the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, London closed its airspace to Russian aircraft. On the same day, Moscow took a similar decision against British aircraft.

    The United Kingdom was then joined by other countries, including all members of the European Union, the United States and Canada. In all cases, Russia resorted to reciprocal measures.
