    All about Twitter

    OX (formerly Twitter) has launched government ID account verification for premium service users to avoid impersonation. The new option was made possible thanks to a partnership with Au10tix, an Israeli identity verification company, which has already worked with Google, PayPal, and Uber.

    According to the company, “its pioneering technology detects patterns of artificial fraud around the world.”

    what do you want to know:

    • As indicated by the TechCrunchthe X Support page reminds you that identity verification is available in many countries, except those that form part of the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom;
    • The social network indicates that the feature will soon be available to more countries, without mentioning those countries;
    • With the addition of identity verification, X Premium subscribers will see the description “This account has been verified by ID” when users click on its blue check mark;
    • In addition, people verified by ID will receive priority to support X services;
    • Information required for this process, such as user photos and biometric data, will be retained by Au10TIX for up to 30 days.
    • OX states that users may receive requests to re-verify their accounts using identity documents.
    • This will happen if the account name is changed, if the account is transferred to someone else, or for other unspecified “safety and security purposes.”

    In August, Company X changed its privacy policy, adding the ability to receive biometric, educational, and work history data, which may help “Combat identity fraud attempts and make the social network more secure”The company told Bloomberg.

    Elon Musk may have compromised user privacy on Twitter; Understands

    Recently, the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) published evidence suggesting that after purchasing Twitter, Elon Musk may have violated a government order imposed by the country’s Department of Justice regarding the company’s data security and privacy practices.

    In 2022, the company agreed to implement a series of privacy policies and audits to resolve allegations that the social network is misleadingly collecting user data.

    However, Musk’s cost-cutting measures — including thousands of layoffs — have undermined the security and privacy policies the company adopted in 2022.

    The FTC document includes testimony from former employees of the social network who claim that Twitter was left without a professional manager in the areas of security and privacy. Find out more in the full article.
