The Minister proposes to simplify the INSS guide to life through SUS! Understands

Important negotiations are taking place between the Ministry of Social Security, led by Carlos Lope, and the Ministry of Health, under Nicia Trinidad. The goal is to take advantage of health records in the SUS (Unified Health System) to simplify the process of proving life for INSS (National Institute of Social Security) beneficiaries.

Since January 2023, INSS has been responsible for verifying the existence and living situation of beneficiaries, using data from other federal entities to cross-reference information. Lupi proposes an innovative solution: using SUS records as a means of proof of life. “Any interaction between a beneficiary and the health care system, whether it is a vaccination or a consultation, can be automatically used to confirm their status with Social Security,” Luby explains.
