  • Scientists have said the ‘door’ madness is part of a tendency in the human brain to search for logical patterns in mysterious ways.

Scientists were the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) behind Curiosity RoverThe rover exploring the Gale Crater crater on Mars said an image taken earlier this month of an alleged “door” smashed into a cliff on the Red Planet is actually just a small crack.

However, “in a less literal sense,” the space agency team said they are interested in these rocks as a “gateway to the ancient past” of the Red Planet.

“These types of open fractures are common in rocks found on both Earth and Mars,” NASA said in a statement.

“Of course, it may look like a small door, but it’s actually a natural geological feature!” the team said on the social network.

However, the scientists claimed that although they did not expect an alien civilization to be behind the “door,” they believed that the rift would provide interesting opportunities for a new science.
