Due to health issues, Governor Helder Barbalo (MDB), a candidate for re-election, canceled his campaign agenda and his appointments as Governor of Barra. Among the planned events was his Participation in a liberal television debate that took place on Tuesday night 27. The governor posted on his social media that he suffers from bronchial asthma.

According to the memo, Helder felt bad this morning, after participating in last night’s rally, in the Pedrera district, in Belém, and was unable to participate, for example, in the graduation of 2,772 new military police officers. The event took place at Arena Guilherme Paraense (Mangueirinho).

“Helder understands the importance of the press in discussing ideas and proposals during the electoral process and remembers that he participated in all the interviews he was invited to, including on liberal television itself,” he highlighted his campaign advice.

The governor has already been treated, according to the press office, and will return to the campaign as soon as possible. The candidate’s schedule scheduled for Wednesday, 28 has also been cancelled.

Helder leads the race for government, according to the latest polls by Ipec/TV Liberal and Instituto Acertar/DIÁRIO, which point to his victory in the first round.

In Ipec, released last Saturday, the governor appears with 72% of voting intentions in stimulus versus 16% of Zequinha Marinho (PL), second place. Instituto Acertar Helder gave 82.4% of the valid votes against 12.3% for Zequinha.

The Ipec/TV Liberal poll was registered at the Regional Electoral Court of Pará under Protocol No. PA 08652/2022 and at the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) under No. BR-07390/2022.

Ipec listened to 800 people between September 21 and 23. The margin of error is plus or minus three percentage points, given a 95% confidence level.

The survey conducted by the Acer Institute / DIÁRIO is registered with the Electoral Court under No. PA-08118/2022. The margin of error is 3% of the total results with a 95% confidence interval. 1,200 interviews were conducted between September 20 and 23.
