On Monday, the 12th, the Santa Cruz do Sul Ministry of Health began deactivating a new batch of SUS cards. At this point, the focus is on cards indicating hospital admissions that did not pass through the basic municipal care network. The work, which seeks to measure the true number of users the municipality must serve, should extend through Friday, 16.

When it was first implemented, in March of this year, 174,892 registered SUS cards were identified. However, the population of the municipality is estimated at just over 132 thousand. So far, Santa Cruz do Sul has deactivated 26,206 cards with some cases of non-compliance.

The Municipal Health Minister, Daniela Domky, assures that patients in emergency and emergency situations with the SUS card deactivated will not fail to attend any of the health units. However, those who need elective care – not urgent or emergency – before requesting the service should make an appointment at the Organizing Center (Rua Ernesto Alves, 746) by phone (51) 3715-4013, to settle the card.
