BTS’s Jin has made his first entry into the UK’s Official Singles Chart with a solo single! On 4 November, Jin’s first official single, ‘The Astronaut’, entered several official UK charts (which are generally regarded as the British equivalent of the US Billboard charts).
During the week of November 4–10, ‘The Astronaut’ debuted at number 61 on the Official Singles Chart, tying PSY’s record for the best debut of any Korean-language single in history. (PSY’s hits ‘Gangnam Style’, ‘Gentleman’ and ‘That That’ entered the chart at number 61.)
Including English songs, Jin now has the third highest charting debut by a Korean solo artist, surpassing his own bandmate Jungkook (his Charlie Puth collaboration ‘Left and Right’ at #43) and Blackpink’s Rosé (his solo debut) ‘On the Ground’ at #43. entered in).
‘The Astronaut’ reached number two on the Official Singles Sales Chart and this week’s Official Singles Downloads Chart.
