British Prime Minister congratulated Lula on his inauguration

UK Prime Minister Rishi SunakCongratulations to Luis Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) who took office as President this Sunday (1/1).

“Many congratulations to Lula on his historic third term as President of Brazil,” Sunak wrote on Twitter.

On behalf of England, Lula wished him success in leading the country. The Prime Minister also said that he hoped to strengthen relations between the two countries in economic, cultural and environmental aspects.

Rishi Sunak took charge of the United Kingdom in October 2022, after his predecessor Liz Truss stepped down – she had the shortest tenure in the country’s history. He is the son of Indian immigrants and the first Hindu to hold the office.

Vice President of Argentina, Christina Kirchner, also celebrated Lula’s inauguration as President. “A new day is dawning in South America,” the Argentine president said.
