The ANS (National Agency for Complementary Health) has canceled the transfer of the Amil portfolio from individual beneficiaries to the APS operator, which is part of the Amil Group.

The transfer was carried out a few days before the end of the year and ended up losing on Friday (29), after a meeting of the collective board of the regulator.

The scale, according to the ANS shown by note, is final. “With the invalidity of the decision authorizing the transfer of the wallet from Amil to APS, the transfer of the wallet no longer has the legal and necessary support of the ANS, and therefore, the APS must immediately return the wallet to the operator,” the agency says.

According to the ANS, Amil and APS must, within five working days, proceed to cancel the “Partial Portfolio Assignment Agreement”, which was registered on December 27, 2021.

The operators will have 20 working days to “communicate the reintegration of the transferred wallet to all beneficiaries, through individual communications and also through publication in a widely circulated newspaper,” the ANS specifies.

In the accounts of the ANS, there are more than 300 thousand beneficiaries in the states of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Parana.

The decision was made, according to the ANS, after it was discovered that APS will not be able to independently manage the acquired portfolio. “[O que acabaria gerando] risk to the continuity and quality of health care to relevant consumers.”
