The online system of the National Institute of Migration has been unstable since last week

The system that generates electronic travel permits for Mexico remains unstable and continues to worry Brazilians by buying tickets to the destination. Difficulties in obtaining documents, which is mandatory for some passengers, began last Friday (3) and the justification given by the Consulate General of Mexico in São Paulo is the appearance of a series of instability in the electronic system of the National Institute of Migration.

With no definitive solution to the fluctuations, the Consulate informed that it continues to take care of appointments made through the site.

Mexico e-Travel permission is required for almost all tourists. The exceptions are: permanent residents of Canada, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, a Schengen area country, the European Union or the Pacific Alliance (Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru). Those who hold a valid tourist visa from Canada, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland or any country in the Schengen area are also free to submit the document.

The Consulate continues to recommend to travelers that in order to avoid problems when traveling to Mexico, it is recommended to apply for a visa through the scheduling system https://citas.sre.gob.mx/.
