Madrid, 19 Feb. (Europa Press) –

British health officials this Friday confirmed 12,027 new infections of COVID-19, consistent with those seen in the previous days.

The United Kingdom has already had 4,095,269 people infected with COVID-19 since the outbreak, while 119,920 have died from the disease, 533 of them in the last 24 hours. That number is slightly higher than the number of confirmed deaths when 450 people were killed on Thursday.

As far as hospital conditions are concerned, British health officials have detailed that 1,490 people need hospital admission in the last 24 hours. So far, 19,392 people have been hospitalized with the disease in the UK, with 2,535 with mechanical respiration.

Meanwhile, more than 16.8 million people in the United Kingdom have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 589,600 have been vaccinated.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan was among those vaccinated this Friday, urging people to do the same after being vaccinated. The BBC reports that Khan, who suffers from severe asthma, was vaccinated at Mitsum Lane Church in Wandsworth.
