Woman arrested for praying outside UK abortion clinic

A woman identified as Isabelle Vaughan-Sprouse, director of March for Life UK, was arrested in England as she prayed in the street next to an abortion clinic.

Isabel was near the PPAS Roberto Clinic in Birmingham on December 6 when police officers who received an anonymous tip approached her.

The city where the case happened recently approved a so-called “censorship zone” law, a way to fine anyone who participates in consenting or denying abortions near clinics where the procedure is performed.

According to the magazine West, the woman was arrested and released on bail on the condition that she not contact a local Catholic priest involved in anti-abortion cases. “It is completely unfair that I have been searched, arrested, interrogated and charged for praying in the privacy of my own mind. “No one should be criminalized in England for thinking and praying in public,” the woman said after her release.
