    A hurricane struck a boat off the coast of Italy's Sicily on Monday morning (19) and the ship sank. One person has died and 6 others are missing. Among the missing is billionaire Mike Lynch, a British tech entrepreneur known as the “Bill Gates of the United Kingdom.” Information from g1 portal.

    The yacht was a luxury sailing yacht and carried the UK flag. Named Bayesian, there were 22 people on board. A storm struck while sailing off the coast of Sicily's capital, Palermo. Hurricane boat overturned.

    Mike Lynch is 59 years old and co-founder of software company Autonomy. Lynch graduated from the University of Cambridge with a degree in natural sciences and holds a PhD in signal processing and communications.

    In 2011, Autonomy was sold to Hewlett-Packard (HP), a transaction that closed for $11 billion. Suspicions arose that fraud had taken place in this negotiation. After more than 10 years of trials, he was acquitted of fraud charges in a case settled in the United States.

    The passengers were sleeping when the storm struck

    According to preliminary reports from survivors, most of the passengers were sleeping in the cabins when the typhoon hit the ship. Some jumped out of the boat.

    Cyclones in the Mediterranean are considered rare, but storms and heavy rain have battered parts of Italy in recent days.

    Rescuers said the vessel was found at a depth of 49 meters. An investigation will find out the reasons for the sinking. This yacht was built in 2008 by Perini.

    The yacht has the world's tallest aluminum mast, at 75 meters, the manufacturer said. The yacht had six cabins and a capacity of up to 12 guests, in addition to a crew of 10.
