Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov announced on Monday that the first British Challenger tanks had arrived in the country to help Kiev’s military fight against Russian forces.

Reznikov reported that “British Challengers, American Strikers and Cougars, and German Marauders” were integrated into Ukrainian units.

The minister posted a picture of the vehicles on Facebook without specifying the exact date of their arrival.

A spokeswoman for the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Iryna Zolotar, confirmed to the report that the Challenger tanks “were already in Ukraine.”

The British Ministry of Defense announced a few hours ago that Ukrainian soldiers have completed their training in the UK to learn how to fly 14 Challenger 2 aircraft that London sent to Kiev.

The exercise began shortly after London announced the delivery of the tanks in early January.

The UK, one of the first countries to support Ukraine since the start of the Russian offensive, announced in February that it would train Ukrainian fighter pilots, opening the door to supplying the planes.
