Tai Camara, one of the six best voices of The Voice Kids Brasil 2023, from Novo Hamburgo, said goodbye to the reality show this Sunday (9) after facing Henrique Lima, of Mumu’s team, in the first round of the Grand Final. Despite not taking the title, Tay impresses the audience and the technicians, once again, with the sound of The Winner Takes It All, ABBA’s song.
Relatives and friends gathered in the evangelical congregation’s shed in Lompa Grande, where Tai, now 14, began his musical career with his first performance. The ceremony and recognition was enormous, and even losing the feud to Henrique Lima, the applause went to the winner.
popular vote
The live program started at 2 pm, and the grand champion was chosen by popular vote. In the first round of the final, two competitors from each team competed against each other. The most voted advanced to the last stage. Bahian Henrique Lima of Team MOMO, who beat Tai Kamara, was the great champion of the season with 45.11% of the vote. He took home a prize and R$250,000.

Eiza praised Tai’s performance, which highlighted the 14-year-old’s professionalism. “It’s surreal, her performance was amazing.” Saying goodbye, Hamburguense thanked the fans and asked them to accompany her on the rally that had begun. “I am so happy. I want to thank God, Momozinho. Thank you very much to the audience, to my city and to my wonderful family,” she said after the show.
acclaim
Families, friends, classmates and the community gathered at the Comunidade Evangélica de Lomba Grande pavilion, where the Municipal Minister of Culture set up a large screen to watch the program and cheer on.
The crowd wore T-shirts, hats, and posters with Tay’s name. A message board and drawings made by the children at Tai School were also provided.
When the show began, the audience broke out in cheers and applause, but they wouldn’t stop voting. In the end, even with the defeat, the victory celebration was a tribute to the path of the young singer.
Running with the times
About an hour before the start of the program, the electricity went out, causing fears in the crowd that had gathered at Lompa Grande. Without electricity, it was not possible to watch the presentation, nor to use the Internet via Wi-Fi to vote. The solution came with a generator, which caused the screen to swell and run minutes before the program started. Overjoyed godmothers Diana and El Helou spoke about expectations ahead of the show. “It was Tila’s dream to sing on The Voice, the vibes are so amazing. So talented, so dedicated, she’s been composing her songs since she was a kid.”
Emotions gripped the family
Of the dozens of people present at the evangelistic pavilion, one of the most emotional was Heloe Louisa Breytenbach, Ty’s 79-year-old grandmother. In the front row, she watched her granddaughter’s performance with tears in her eyes, and along with other family members cheered for her granddaughter.
The unfavorable outcome did not diminish the girl’s pride. “She was a year old and she was already singing in the area in front of my house, even the neighbors stopped watching. I think she’s going to make a great singer, it’s a pity she didn’t win, but this kid (Henrique Lima) was so good.”
Her aunt, Fabiana Breytenbach, 37, commented, “Just the fact that Tay was standing on that podium fills our hearts with joy.
