SP's Agriculture Secretariat receives Embassy from United Kingdom • DBO Portal

Last Monday (15/1), the Secretary of Agriculture and Supply of São Paulo, Guilherme Pia, received Jonathan Knott, British diplomat and Consul General of the United Kingdom, at the headquarters of the department to expand cooperation between the state and the European country. , mainly in relation to export of goods.

The Secretary highlighted the international experience at COP28 held in December 2023 in Dubai, an event attended by the Agriculture Secretariat and intensified relations with many countries attending the meeting.

Piyai emphasized the state's interest in the topic and said that one of the objectives of the agriculture department is to implement the cow tracking system.

“By implementing these measures in a coordinated manner, São Paulo will create a useful cattle detection system that contributes to food security, environmental sustainability and transparency in the cattle production chain. Collaboration between different stakeholders is fundamental to the success of this process”.

At the event, a general overview of SAA's programs and activities in support of agriculture in São Paulo was presented, as well as research carried out by the Secretariat's six institutions affiliated with APTA.

It was recommended that a list of country and secretariat priorities be drawn up to encourage future meetings to further strengthen the relationship between the United Kingdom and the State of São Paulo and to develop specific cooperation strategies between the countries.
