This Monday, with an “uncensored” interview with former US President Donald Trump, media mogul Rupert Murdoch launched a talkie channel in the UK in which he criticized Elizabeth II’s grandson Prince Harry and his wife Megan Markle.

The channel aired at 7:00 pm (in Lisbon at the same time), and after the first hour of news and debate, journalist Pierce Morgan interviewed Trump for the “uncensored” show. [Sem censura].

A promotional video showing the former US president angry when asked about his claim that the 2020 election was “stolen” has gone viral.

In a statement, Trump later said that Morgan had tried to edit his long and difficult interview illegally and deceptively, but the journalist responded that they would all be shown in full during the broadcast.

The former president’s grandson and his wife, former actress Megan Markle, moved to California in 2020 after they left the British monarchy.

Trump accepted the claim that Prince Harry, 37, was controlled by Meghan, and that the couple would eventually split, according to excerpts from The Sun newspaper owned by Murdoch.

TalkTV will be broadcast on major television in the UK and on streaming sites other than YouTube.

The channel uses a team of journalists from Murdoch’s News UK group, which includes The Times and The Sun, and airs video shows from the merchant – owned Docradio.

The group also launched another radio station, Times Radio, in June 2020 as an alternative to the BBC’s Radio 4.

Recent data show that Times Radio’s audience has dropped by 21% in the last two quarters of 2021.

The talkie channel will face another new channel, Political News’ GB News, whose ratings have been confirmed on a low basis after a shaky start in June 2021.

Murdoch and his editors are close to the British Conservative government, which has been increasingly lashing out at the BBC and private Channel 4.

The Australian president did not hide his annoyance over British broadcasting laws, which prevented pro-Trump, right-wing rhetoric from appearing on his popular Fox News channel in the United States.

However, parts of Murdoch’s media empire, such as Morgan’s and The Sun, have found great influence by siding with Prime Minister Boris Johnson in criticizing the so-called “awakened” cultural movements.
