IKEA invests in opening small stores in large centers

IKEA is preparing to open its first business in Spain XS . Store, a new concept for the Swedish furniture and decoration brand that aims to create “small units compared to traditional supermarkets of about 30,000 square meters” that will be installed in large urban centers.

The news published by the Spanish newspaper “El Economista” on July 23 stated that the company had already signed a contract with Redvco to open a new space in the summer of 2022, which will have approximately 7500 square meters It will open 175 job opportunities.

This store will be installed in the Parque Corredor shopping center in the Spanish capital, which is operated by Redvco. The aim of this project is to make branding more accessible through new formats, in this case on the outskirts of cities, with installations that will vary between Five thousand ten thousand square meters.

The IKEA XS Store will only display a portion of the retailer’s products, as size does not allow for the entire catalog. However, customers will be able to access all products, physically or through online purchases at these establishments.
