“It's constantly dangerous. Whether it's knives or acid, these are the things that worry me the most. It's one of the reasons I didn't bring my wife to this country. Prince Harry justified his decision to keep his wife Meghan Markle out of the UK in an interview for an ITV documentary. Tabloids on trialIt premiered this Thursday and includes stories by Hugh Grant, Charlotte Church or Paul Gascoigne.

The 39-year-old Duke of Sussex recalled the “royal threats” Meghan received when the couple lived in the UK, and in 2022, confirmed by former Metropolitan Police counter-terrorism chief Neil Basu, dismissed the idea that this was the case. It is the final straw for abdication of royal duties.

In the interview, Harry points the finger once again Working Committee on Protection of Royalty and Public Persons (RAVEC, in its original acronym), which stripped them of their protection, refused to replace it even when Prince offered to pay for the service. A decision backed by the government, which argued that the wealthy could not hire officers trained as private bodyguards, was upheld by the Supreme Court earlier this year, ruling that Harry could no longer benefit from that protection, but the Duke intends to appeal the decision.

Above all, she explained, “The United Kingdom is fundamental to my children's cultural heritage, and I want them to feel as at home as they do now in the United States. This will not happen if there is no possibility of keeping them safe while they are on British soil.”

During the conversation, Harry noted that his fight against the tabloids has also affected his family relationships, but he believes “these are the things we have to do for the greater good.”

Currently, there are two lawsuits against Harry's publishers Mail Just from the sun. In December, the High Court ruled that Mirror Group Newspapers was the target of computer hacking.
