Thiago Scheuer(40 years old) said on his Instagram account, on Wednesday (the first), that he suffered a health illness last month that could lead to serious complications. A TV Globo correspondent said on social networks that he had been diagnosed with shingles and felt severe pain due to the disease.

“Have you ever had shingles or do you know someone who has had this disease? Because I had it last March and I admit to you that I felt a lot of pain. Today’s newspaper the worldIn fact, he published a study conducted in Brazil, which says that there is a 31% increase in the number of hospitalizations due to this disease compared to 2021 compared to 2023. So, this is not a joke.”

The journalist said that his condition, fortunately, did not develop seriously. He said: “In my case, fortunately, I did not need to be hospitalized. But the pain was severe, fluctuating with sensations of shock, needles, burning, burning, punching…”

“How did you know that? It started with a little red spot on my stomach, and then that little spot grew every day. Then it took up part of my side and my back. I didn't understand anything, and three days later, I went to a dermatologist. She told me that he diagnosed me with shingles.” He gave me antiviral medication, and the pain did not completely stop until three weeks later.

The reporter also provided details about the disease. “Shingster is caused by the same virus as chickenpox. If you have chickenpox in childhood, the virus does not go away, it remains dormant in the body and can return in adulthood taking advantage of an episode of low immunity, which was the cause,” he added. “In my case, Or stress or even depression. This disease usually affects people over the age of fifty, and there are people younger than me who suffer from it as well.”
