All four countries have been downgraded to “high-risk areas”, meaning that its citizens can now travel to Germany and serve up to 10 days of isolation upon arrival, the company said.

The isolation period can be shortened to five days if a negative Covit-19 test is shown.

“If you spend time in a place with more events before entering, the relevant test will not be conducted until the next five days,” the company said on its website.

Prior to the classification change, travelers from four countries were barred from entering Germany unless they were residents, and had to be isolated for 14 days after arriving in the country.

The rulings, which take effect on Wednesday, will see Presidents Angela Merkel say on Friday that Britain, which has taken two doses of the vaccine, could soon travel to Germany.
