Caixa Econômica Federal expanded Eight to ten years The maximum term for repayment of renegotiated debts in the bank in the range of Desenrola Brasil. The new deadline is the same as that offered by other banks, such as Banco do Brasil and Santander.

The novelty was announced on Friday (21), the day when State Bank branches opened earlier to serve customers interested in participating in the program. The initiative was a kind of “Victory Day”, but it could happen again.

    – We will note the demand and if we see the need, we will reopen our doors earlier on other days – explained CAIXA Vice President of Logistics, Operations and Security, Mônica Monteiro.

In this first phase of the initiative, account holders with an income of up to R$20,000 (tier 2) can negotiate directly with financial institutions to pay the contracted debts between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2022.

In addition, consumers with debts of up to R$100 will have their names automatically cleared by the banks. This does not mean that debts will be forgiven, but the bank will not enter the debtor’s name into the negative register. Thus, in practice, the debtor can access credit again.

Unlike in September in Group 1 – formed by those with incomes of up to a minimum wage (2,640 R$) or registered in the Individual Register (CadÚnico) and debts of up to R5 000 – the conditions were not set in the first phase of the program by the government. The only condition is that the debt can be paid in at least 12 installments.
