Celine Dion’s fans were outraged by the recently released list of the 200 greatest male and female singers in history. The ranking produced by the North American edition of Rolling Stone magazine has singer Aretha Franklin in first place and makes no mention of Dion.

The Rolling Stone ranking has been published since 2008 and has been updated regularly, with Aretha Franklin taking the top 10 and the rest of the top 10 with Whitney Houston, Sam Cooke, Billie Holiday, Mariah Carey, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Beyoncé, Otis Redding, Al Green.

Up to the 20th place, the ranking consists of Little Richard, John Lennon, Patsy Cline, Freddie Mercury, Bob Dylan, Prince, Elvis Presley, Celia Cruz, Frank Sinatra and Marvin Gaye.

“Have you heard of Celine Dion? Try to identify her,” one person quipped on Twitter in response to the list with the singer absent. “I forgot Celine Dion….” A third asked: “How can someone forget that Celine Dion is there?” “Celine Dion is not on the list, something is wrong,” another person criticized.

Dion has sold over 200 million records worldwide. Seven of her albums have sold over 10 million copies, making them one of the best-selling female albums in history.

The singer has also received five Grammy Awards. His performance of “My Heart Will Go On,” which appeared on the soundtrack to “Titanic” (1997), won him the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 1998 Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Awards.

The Canadian singer recently revealed that she has a rare autoimmune disease called Stiff Person Syndrome (SPR). It is also known as English Stiff-Person Syndrome (SPS).

The condition causes your muscles to spasm uncontrollably. Dion broke the news via Instagram, announcing that she will have to cancel shows scheduled in the UK and Europe in 2023.

“I’ve been dealing with health issues for a long time,” the singer said in the video. “While we are still learning about this rare condition, we now at least know that this is what causes my cramps,” he explained. According to her, the disease affects one in a million people.

“Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when walking and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I used to.”
