Minister Alexandre Silveira, this Wednesday (21/8) United Kingdom's Minister for Energy and Climate, Mr. British Ambassador to Brazil Stephanie Al-Khaq was present for the meeting at the headquarters of the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) in Brasilia.

At the event, the ministers discussed the challenges of the global energy transition and the situation in the energy, oil and gas and critical minerals sectors. Silveira officially invited Minister Miliband to come to Brazil to participate in the next edition of the G20.

“It is very important that Brazil, with its excellent history of integrated bilateral relations in the energy, oil and gas sectors, listens to the Secretary of State for Energy Security of the United Kingdom. We will only achieve the energy transition with a short time frame, especially if there is global commitment from already industrialized countries,” said Minister Alexandre Silveira.
