Within two days, more than 4,000 people were vaccinated against Covid-19 in a joint effort carried out by the government. A tent was erected in front of the Government Palace, in Rio Branco, on the 25th and 26th.
The State Department of Health (Sesacre) balance indicates that in the two days, 2,533 second doses of vaccines were applied. And another 1,504 first shots. In total, there were 4,037 doses.
Initially, there was a difference between the information released by the government and the city council regarding the application of the first dose of the fortifying agent. Therefore, at the beginning of the task force, only 187 doses were applied, however, it was also opened on Saturday to apply the first dose, which ended today with the application of more than 1.5 thousand doses.
Efforts have been made to speed up vaccination against Covid-19, since in the capital until the beginning of the effort more than 34,000 people were able to receive the second dose of the immunizing agent.

Data from the Strategic Health Surveillance Information Center (Cievs), from Sesacre, showed that Acre has 72,765 people who have not yet received the second dose of the immunizing agent and need to return to health facilities to complete vaccination. Of this total, 34,833 were from Rio Branco.
The survey was conducted last Tuesday (22) and will be updated next Tuesday (29). With this, the number of vaccinated people in the joint effort in front of the Rio Branco Palace and in the health units has not yet been calculated.
Vaccine studies were conducted with two-dose immunization. That is, the effectiveness promised by the companies was determined by tests with two applications. In addition to increasing protection, the second dose helps extend that protection.
With the exception of the Janssen vaccine, developed by the Jhonson & Johnson group, other vaccines, to date, use two immunizing doses, at different intervals.
The ideal interval is 28 days between doses of CoronaVac. A study by Butantan showed that the vaccine was 62% effective at an interval of 21 to 28 days, compared to 50% at an interval of 21 days.
Oxford/AstraZeneca clinical studies showed an efficacy of 82.4% with the second dose, over a period of three months after the first dose.
The Ministry recommends that the vaccine be given every 12 weeks (three months). On a technical note, the volume informs that the longer interval was recommended based on studies in the UK – the country chose to increase the spacing at the start of the vaccination campaign, due to the scarcity of doses.
The manufacturer’s package insert states that the fortifying agent should be applied “in an interval greater than or equal to 21 days between the first and second dose.”
According to information received from the government transparency portal, Acre has received 436,360 vaccination doses and 317,255 doses have been applied until Sunday (27), the date of the last update, which is 245,135 first doses and 72,120 doses from the second. Rio Branco applied 158,833 doses and Cruzeiro do Sul 38,482.
According to the government, the number of applied doses that appears on the portal refers to data that has already been entered into the system of the Ministry of Health, which is updated by the municipalities. Therefore, there may be a delay in the information.
