An MP since 2010, Bridget Phillipson won 47% of the vote, compared to 29.1% for the Reform Party represented by Sam Woods-Brass and 13.8% for the Conservative candidate Chris Burnickel.
The United Kingdom today held elections to fill 650 seats in the House of Commons, the lower house of Parliament.
According to BBC, Sky and ITV forecasts, Labour will win the UK general election with a large majority, electing 410 out of 650 MPs, while Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's Conservative Party will fall to 131 MPs.
The final result is expected to be confirmed on Friday, and a new prime minister will be appointed by King Charles III and tasked with forming a government.
