    The agreement envisages strengthening partnerships in trade and investment and promoting sustainable development

    The State Government of São Paulo, officially this Friday (12), through the São Paulo-United Kingdom Cooperation Framework (SP – SP – UK Cooperation Framework).

    Governor Darcio de Freidas received United Kingdom Ambassador to Brazil Stephanie Al-Khaq at the Palacio dos Bandirantes to implement the partnership, which includes cooperation in the fields of trade and investment, research and technology (including health). In addition to these areas, the United Kingdom and the State of São Paulo will work together to mobilize green investments, services, technology and experience to implement the Climate Action Plan of the State of São Paulo.

    “We have taken many important steps in the fields of renewable energy, technology and biogas. For example, I highlight bold reforestation and decarbonization projects in the province of São Paulo. We can build on this MoU with new investments and partnerships between the United Kingdom and São Paulo.” Governor Tarcio de Freitas announced.

    The meeting was also attended by International Trade Secretary Lucas Ferras and Civil House Secretary Arthur Lima.

    “I am delighted to once again meet with Governor Tarcio to discuss how the UK can support the state government to achieve its ambitions of attracting more investment, creating more jobs and advancing São Paulo's green growth agenda. ”, British Ambassador to Brazil Stephanie Al-Khaq highlighted.

    As a first step to support the implementation of the Climate Action Plan, the UK PACT country fund was announced, which aims to provide technical training to attract private investment to projects related to the topic. Martin Valli, Director of Trade and Commerce in Brazil with the Ambassador; Climate and Environmental Policy Advisor, Ana Julia Santiago; and political analyst Felipe Augusto Morales.
