    Withdrawal of the FGTS (Guarantee Fund for Term of Service) is a common procedure for workers who have been dismissed without just cause or who have chosen to withdraw on the anniversary. However, despite being the most popular with the public, these are not the only ways to make money.

    Diseases that allow withdrawal of FGTS

    A worker associated with FGTS can request a refund for the following reasons:

    • Osteitis deformans (Piaget’s disease) in an advanced stage.

    • Active tuberculosis.
    • HIV/AIDS;
    • Malignant tumor (cancer);
    • The final stage of other diseases.

    Withdrawal due to microcephaly or severe Level 3 autism spectrum disorder (ASD) occurs when a worker’s dependent is affected by the disease. Moreover, resources can be used to purchase a prosthetic limb or orthopedic device, as long as the citizen is away from work for at least two years, due to a health condition that requires the use of this device.

    How to request money

    The application can be submitted through the FGTS application or at the Caixa Econômica Federal Branch, upon submission of supporting documents (copies of tests and reports, withdrawal form and personal documents). See the detailed guide to requesting a withdrawal through the application:

    1. In the FGTS app, click on “My Withdrawals”;
    2. Click on “Other withdrawals”;
    3. Specify the reason as “serious, peripheral, orthotic/prosthetic”;
    4. Inform those affected or affected by the disease (pregnant or dependent);
    5. Click on “FGTS Withdrawal Request”;
    6. Register a bank account you own;
    7. Submit required documents and confirmation;
    8. Wait for the medical expert to evaluate and verify the validity of the data to deposit the amount into the account.
