Silvia Cristina, rapporteur of the bill
On Tuesday (15) the House of Representatives approved Bill 4558/19, by Rep. Marika Filho (Patriota-MA), which guarantees burn victims full assistance through the Unified Health System (SUS) at all stages of the recovery process. The motion will be sent to the Senate.
The approved text is a substitution For the rapporteur, Congresswoman Silvia Cristina (PL-RO), who offers this comprehensive assistance to treat the consequences of any kind that may arise from burns.
“Replacing normal tissue with hypertrophic scars, in addition to the aesthetic and functional aspects, can be dangerous to the point of immobilizing, immobilizing limbs and even limiting breathing movements. These people deserve all the care and support necessary for their recovery and reintegration,” the rapporteur said.
Multiples
For people with burn scars, the project ensures that biopsychosocial assessment is carried out by a multidisciplinary and multidisciplinary team as provided for in the Statute for Persons with Disabilities. This assessment determines the severity of the consequences and whether there is a disability, and classifies its degree.
After this stage, if a disability is verified, the person with a burn is considered to be a person with a disability, with the same rights as legally granted.
If the bill becomes law, it will go into effect 30 days after it is published.
