Giro Marilla - Side de Marilla issues an alert for H1N1 and Covid care and prevention

On Monday, the Marilia Municipal Secretary of Health issued a warning to residents to adopt “care and preventive measures” against H1N1 influenza, caused by the influenza virus, and Covid-19.

The recommendation is accompanied by a case of greater concern in large urban centers as well as local measures, such as warning notices issued by public transport companies last week🇧🇷

According to the secretary, Doctor Sergio Nachar, frequent hand washing, especially when using public places, the public transportation system, as well as avoiding closed places with many people, are some of the preventive measures that must be strengthened.

Nashar also directed the use of the mask to the so-called high-risk groups in places where there is a cluster. The alert includes the elderly, immunosuppressed patients, and patients with chronic diseases.

The alert also recommends that people with influenza avoid sharing utensils, cups, and personal items, wear masks, and prioritize the use of disposable tissues for bronchial facial hygiene.

“The guide for people who are not vaccinated at the end is to search for one of the health units in the municipality to complete the vaccination,” the statement said.

In addition, people belonging to the risk group who have symptoms of influenza or a cold (runny nose, sore throat, cough, body aches) should immediately request a basic health unit or emergency services in the municipality.

“It is important for people to know that any difficulty breathing and a fever for more than three days is indicative of something getting worse. We cannot allow it to get to that point, because the use of antivirals – the medicine that helps fight the influenza virus, H1N1 – has to be done.” Take it within the first 48 hours of the onset of symptoms, hence the importance of people looking for unity within the first two days of the onset of symptoms,” said Sergio Nachar.
