Brazilians are increasingly inclined to issues Psychological health and well-being within the companies they work for. This is shown by the Global Learner Survey, a survey developed by Pearson Education company. For 71% of participants in Brazil, organizations must provide mental health services to employees free of charge.
The survey heard 1,001 Brazilians aged between 16 and 74, between April 13 and 22. The Global Learner Survey has also been conducted in the US, UK, China and India. In all, it was heard by 8,170 people worldwide.
Additionally, for 65% of Brazilians interviewed, companies should expand health plan benefit coverage with psychological services and assistance. For 59% of Brazilian employees, internal, face-to-face or virtual discussions about mental health care and wellbeing would already be highly acceptable.
“Obviously after the pandemic we are going through, psychological care has become a priority for the population. We are going through a long period of mental difficulty absorbing everything that we have been through. When we put this into our daily lives, we saw that people, from now on, would more intensely prioritize the care of Mental health and well-being, particularly in the professional environment,” comments Giuliano Costa, Vice President of Content Strategy at Pearson Latam.
Another point that stands out in the survey is that for 90% of Brazilians, companies must offer paid vacation days so that they can take care of their mental health and well-being.
In addition, 92% said they prioritize, when searching for a new job, companies that offer some type of service or program focused on mental health and well-being.
However, the reality that professionals face is quite different from the reality that is required. The majority (82%) said the companies they work for do not implement or support any mental health and wellness programs at all.
