Itamaraty highlighted the “historical links” between nations, and that the union of nations benefits the Brazilians and the French.

Amid the conflict with Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has congratulated Macron on his re-election, saying the French president is a “true friend”. “Congratulations to President and true friend Emmanuel Macron on his electoral victory,” Zelensky wrote on his Twitter account.
Russian President Vladimir Putin also acknowledged the result. “I sincerely wish you success in the activities of your state, as well as health and wellness,” he said in a statement issued by the Kremlin.
Finally, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson sent the congratulations to Macron later on Sunday, Brasilia time. France is one of our closest and most important allies. I look forward to continuing to work together on the issues that are most important to our two countries and the world.”
