President Jair Bolsonaro (without party) in his live broadcast on Thursday (21/10) criticized the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) on the pandemic. During the live broadcast at Palácio do Planalto, the president criticized Omar Aziz (PSD/AM) and Renan Calheiros (MDB/AL), noting that they did not investigate states to “protect their state”.

These guys didn’t help the G7 at all. They took the staff’s time, took two days off from Queiroga and didn’t help at all, they didn’t find anything, but Renan and Aziz had to fend for themselves. It’s not that they didn’t find anything. They will not find it. “Because there was no corruption in the health of the Brazilians,” the president said.

Bolsonaro also cited the president of the Federal Council of Medicine (CFM), Mauro Ribeiro, and came out in defense of medical independence. Planal’s chief read texts, supposedly journalistic, which called into question the effectiveness of the vaccine. According to information provided by Bolsonaro, 70% of coronavirus victims in the UK will be vaccinated.

However, data between January and July analyzed by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) indicates that only 1.2% of those fully vaccinated died from the coronavirus.

In Brazil, deaths have fallen dramatically since vaccination began to advance. The country, which recorded more than 4,000 deaths as a result of infection with the virus, recorded on Wednesday (10/20) 373 deaths.
