    Britain on Friday reaffirmed its position that all countries should respect sovereignty and the rule of law, following reports that Canada had asked India to withdraw 41 diplomats.

    After British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak held talks with the Canadian Prime Minister, a government spokesman said in a statement, “The Prime Minister reaffirmed the UK’s position that all countries respect sovereignty and the rule of law, including the principles of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.     Tensions between India and Canada escalated last month when Canada said it was “vigorously pursuing credible allegations” implicating Indian government agents in the June killing of a Sikh separatist leader in British Columbia.
