Electro-acoustic works produced in Belgium, Canada, the United Kingdom and Argentina will be presented on Friday 11 November 2022, as part of the Circuito Contemporâneo series, at the Espaço de Criação e Invenção Sonora (ECrIS) of the UFMG Institute. The goal is to provide the audience of Belo Horizonte with a connection to contemporary electronic media production in its most distinctive aspect. Equipped with a 12-channel sound system, the studio provides an immersive experience in which sounds revolve around the listener. The party will start at 20:00.

The party starts with Mitharkana (1998), by Belgian composer Stephane Dunkelmann, the production was developed to work alongside choreography. Later, work husband/disability (1978), by Jonty Harrison, UK, deals with the game of opposition – as the title suggests – between the dynamic and the static.

third configuration, free associations (1990) was born to Canadian Gilles Jubel from a partnership with guitarist Rene Loser, who used his power of improvisation to generate gestures that were later recorded and worked on. Finally, two works by Argentine composers will be presented: Burzelbaum (2003), by Elsa Justel, is an electro-acoustic “klango”. The term “klango” was proposed by the commissioning organization to suggest a vocal element (klang) paired with the rhythm of the tango. The idea was to create an electroacoustic piece for which you can dance.

Accurate assembly
the work 3 . blow (2021), by José Hallack, concludes the ceremony. The composition is a “delicate montage made of samples recorded by Cordovician clarinetist Nicolas Mazza in the studio,” according to the author. All sounds, even small ones, have been amplified to match those considered important. The idea is to “immerse yourself in an audio zoom made up of the interior space,” Halac continues. The show is free and open to the public, without the need for admission or pre-registration.
