Three students were killed in a school shooting in the United States

at most Three students were killed and eight others were injured, including a teacher. On Tuesday, in a high school shooting in Oxford, Michigan, a 15-year-old student was quickly arrested, officials said.

The Oakland Police Department said an acute response from police and emergency responders followed the bombing, which was reported at Oxford High School, about 40 miles north of Detroit, just before 1:00 p.m. local time.

“The suspect fired several shots,” Deputy Sheriff Michael McCabe told reporters at the scene. “There are many victims. I regret to report that we have three deceased victims at the moment.”

He added that among the dead were a 16-year-old boy, a 17-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl.

McCabe said the alleged shooter, a 15-year-old student at the school, was quickly arrested by police without resistance after firing 15 to 20 rounds with a semi-automatic pistol.

“The whole deal lasted five minutes,” McCabe added.

Authorities believe the student acted alone.

McCabe praised the school for its willingness to shoot and orderly retreat.

Press Secretary Yan Psaki told reporters that President Joe Biden told him National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan about the shooting before speaking at a technical college in Minnesota.

“My heart goes out to the families who are bearing the unimaginable pain of losing a loved one,” Biden said of Minnesota.
