Even before the official announcement scheduled for next Thursday morning (16), the list of matches for the upcoming Premier League season was leaked.

English football fans already know what the matches of the first eight rounds of the tournament will be, as well as the Christmas and New Year matches.

Two lists of the so-called “leaked” games have spread on social media, showing eight rounds from August 6 to September 24, and then eight more rounds from December 26 to February 11.

However, the accuracy of these lists remains highly questionable – especially since no midweek games are on any of the lists.

The first round of midweek matches for next season is scheduled to start from Tuesday 30 August to Thursday 1 September, which casts doubt on the credibility of the leak.

It also does not include a planned international break over the weekend of September 24, which contains a full lineup of games despite the schedule being cut off.

For example, England will play Nations League matches on September 23-26, which means that Premier League teams will not participate in the weekend matches.

If the arrangement is correct, Manchester City will start defending the Premier League title against the same team that beat Aston Villa in the final round of the 2021/22 season.

Aston Villa are set to visit the Etihad again on Saturday 6 August, three months after they bullied Pep Guardiola’s men on the last day of the previous season, before finally undergoing a dramatic comeback.

As for the festive agenda, the London derby between Arsenal and Chelsea looks the best on Boxing Day, while rivals Leeds and Man United take on on January 2nd.
