The announcement was made on Monday by Scotland Yard, the UK police force, which was already in possession of the super sports car.

The red car was stolen from the hotel where Berger, then a Ferrari driver, was staying for the San Marino Grand Prix, in Imola. On the same day, a gray Ferrari 355B owned by Frenchman Jean Alesi, the Austrian's partner in the Maranello team that year, also disappeared.

Last January, Scotland Yard received a notification from Ferrari, which carried out inspections on a car purchased by an American through a British negotiator in 2023. Investigations revealed that the super sports car had been stolen.

During the investigation, agents discovered that the Testarossa had been sent to Japan shortly after the theft in Imola, and had arrived in the UK at the end of last year.

The value of the car is estimated at more than 400 thousand euros, equivalent to more than 2.1 million Brazilian riyals.

The Dutchman took first place on the podium with teammate Sergio Perez in the first two positions for Red Bull at the Sakhir circuit.

Looking at the final races of last season, Verstappen has won eight in a row and has a total of 55 wins in his career.

Third place went to Spaniard Carlos Sainz from Ferrari. Monaco's Charles Leclerc, also a driver for the Italian team, finished the race in fourth place, followed by George Russell, from Mercedes.

In turn, Lando Norris put McLaren in sixth place, while Lewis Hamilton, Oscar Piastri, Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll closed the top ten.

Formula 1 returns next weekend, on March 9, with the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix.
