The epidemic will end “when everyone decides” to end it

The head of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said Sunday (24) that the Covid-19 epidemic will end “when everyone decides to end it”, because we currently have “all the tools” necessary to combat the virus.

The head of the World Health Organization (WHO) stated in Berlin, where he once again insisted on the distribution of the most balanced anti-virus vaccines around the world.

Tedros Adhanom also noted that “with around 50,000 deaths per week” worldwide, “the epidemic is far from over.”

He made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the “Global Health Summit”, which every year brings together health professionals and political leaders in Berlin.

The World Health Organization has set a goal of vaccinating 40% of the population in every country against the coronavirus before the end of the year and 70% by mid-2022.

Tedros Adhanom has lamented on several occasions the concentration of vaccines in rich countries.

“The goal is achievable, but only if the countries and companies that control the show translate their data into facts,” he insisted in the German capital.
