The information was revealed by Bethesda director and executive producer, Todd Howard, during an interview about the greatness of Starfield, the company’s next big RPG. In the interview about the number of different worlds in Starfield for the games website IGNTodd Howard casually remarked, “Here we are, 12 years after Skyrim, looking at a game that has sold over 60 million copies.” In the same interview, the director, 52, also commented that the long-awaited The Elder Scrolls 6 could be his last project, as Bethesda is taking time to develop their titles. “If you do the math, I’m not getting any younger,” Howard said.

A new confirmed sales figure indicates that The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim has sold 30 million copies in just the last 7 years. The game, which originally launched in 2011 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, had already sold 30 million units by 2016, according to Bethesda.
