The British Ministry of Defense said, on Sunday, that the Kremlin has been recruiting soldiers out of service since 2012 to reinforce its forces, in response to the high number of casualties suffered by Russian forces in Ukraine.
And the intelligence, published by the British Ministry of Defense on Twitter, added that the Russian armed forces are trying to recruit soldiers in the Moldavian region of Transnistria, which is separated from the rest of the country by the Dniester River and which has declared its independence.
Western countries estimate that between 7,000 and 15,000 Russian soldiers have been killed since the start of the Kremlin-ordered invasion.
The British Ministry of Defense stressed that the withdrawal of Russian forces from northern Ukraine highlighted the “disproportionate” number of “non-combatant” deaths, emphasizing the existence of mass graves and the use of hostages as human shields.
The British government also warned that Moscow’s forces were using IEDs to increase casualties, “lower morale” for Ukrainians and restrict their freedom of movement.
Attacks on infrastructure have a high risk of causing collateral damage to civilians, according to the United Kingdom, reporting an action that destroyed a nitric acid tank in the town of Ribizhne, in the Lugansk region.
