Poland's Krzysztof Glowacki, responsible for one of MMA's major knockouts of the 2023 season, has been banned for four years, according to a Reuters report last Wednesday, for steroid use. The punishment came from the United Kingdom Anti-Doping Authority (UKAD), which regulates the anti-doping program in the region.

Glowacki has only had one MMA bout in his career, specifically the one that brought him into the spotlight last year, but his entire career has been in boxing, where he became the WBO (World Boxing Organization) cruiserweight champion. It was also for the performance in the ring that the commentary came.

The positive test result was due to his defeat to Richard Riakborhi in January 2023, in Manchester, England, when he was eliminated in the fourth round. His urine sample was positive for boldenone, a banned anabolic steroid. UKAD oversees anti-doping in 40 Olympic, Paralympic and professional sports in the UK and is overseen by the British Parliament.

Glowacki, 37, made his mixed martial arts debut last June at KSW 83 at a stadium in Warsaw. He scored a miraculous knockout by lying on his back while Patrick Tolkachevsky was pinned on top. Even taking blows from above, Glowacki delivered a blow from below that knocked his opponent unconscious.
