Prince Harry says the UK will 'always be his home' trying to restore police protection in the country | Globalism

Prince Harry’s lawyer in London argued on Friday that despite living in the United States, the Queen’s grandson would “always consider” Britain his “home”.

He defends the heir in a lawsuit aimed at returning the prince his own police protection, which he will pay himself, when he travels with his family to the country.

Harry and his wife Meghan are no longer active members of the British royal family, they have lost police protection granted at the expense of UK taxpayers.

To maintain this, Elizabeth II’s grandson offered to pay out of pocket, which the Home Office has denied, a decision which is now being challenged in court.

Harry argues, however, that they do not have access to the information they need to keep their families safe when on British soil.

His lawyer, Martyr Fatima, argued at a hearing in London: “The plaintiff does not feel safe when in the UK.”

Last summer, the paparazzi chased Harry’s car after it had left a charity event. The next day, he and his older brother William unveiled a statue of their mother, Diana. She died in a 1997 car crash in Paris after being chased by paparazzi.

Harry filed the lawsuit in September, but for now, the court is still considering whether to open a proceeding on the matter.
