Police attack a Brazilian transgender woman in Milan (video)

Milan Mayor Giuseppe Sala declared it “really serious” and said the agents involved were “placed in the internal services”.

I forget – A video clip of a Brazilian transgender being assaulted by four police officers in Milan, Italy, went viral on social media on Wednesday (24) and raised questions about the actions of the security forces.

In the images of the intervention, which were recorded by students at Bocconi University, the woman appears to be kicked and beaten with a club. Customers also sprayed the Brazilian’s face with pepper.

After the numerous assaults, the woman was handcuffed face down on the asphalt. The Milan public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation into the incident.

Daniel Vincini, president of the Local Police Officers Union (SULPL), reports that agents were called in to respond to a complaint that the Brazilian was harassing some children.

Vincini commented, “She starts hitting her head and pretending to faint. When the agents approached, she attacked them to try to escape. What you see is the last part of the video.”

Milan Mayor Giuseppe Sala declared it “really serious”.

“It’s not a pretty picture, it’s a very serious event. However, in order to get involved officially, the police need to file a police report. The responsible agents have been assigned to the internal services,” the politician commented, adding that the agents would be suspended. .
