A woman was killed and several others injured in a shooting at a pub in Wallasey, near Liverpool, on Saturday night, British police said.
Merseyside County Police officers arrived at the Lighthouse Inn bar in Wallasey at around 11.50pm.
A young woman was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound, but did not survive. Also, three men were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds following the incident, and several others were reportedly injured.
Commissioner David McGreen said officers were in the early stages of their investigation and expressed an understanding of what happened “just before Christmas Day, in a busy area full of young people”.
“We have many agents [zona] “Wallace village is conducting detailed investigations to understand exactly what happened and take immediate action,” he added.
McGrean asked witnesses to “urgently” contact police with any information about the alleged gunman who left the bar’s parking lot in a dark vehicle.
