Rumors

In November of last year, Madonna announced for the first time, during a show on her current tour in Cologne, Germany, that she would be coming to Brazil. But the star did not give any details. At the beginning of this month, the first rumors of a show on Copacabana Beach began to spread.

Last week, a plane circled the coast of Rio carrying an orange banner bearing the words “Brazil, I'm coming”, which excited fans even more. However, the arrival was only officially confirmed on March 22, through a video from the Queen herself.

The “Celebration Tour” is a tour commemorating Madonna's 40-year career. The series of shows was scheduled to begin in July last year. But due to the star's urgent hospitalization, it was postponed and only started in October. The singer is currently traveling across North America and should finish performing in April. Negotiations for the final offer began in Brazil in 2022.

Madonna in Brazil

Madonna's first appearance in Brazil was with “The Girlie Show” in 1993, which promoted the album “Erotica”. It was the singer's first time performing in Latin America and Oceania, with shows in Mexico, Argentina, Puerto Rico and Australia.

In December 2008, the Queen of Pop finished the first part of her “Sticky & Sweet Tour” in the country: with two shows in Morumbi and three in Maracanã. The performances were part of the promotion of the artist's eleventh album, “Hard Candy.” At the time, the tour became the most profitable in history for a solo artist, breaking the record set by Madonna herself with her Confessions Tour.
