Nsync released its first song in over 20 years on Friday (29). The new song “Better Place” is part of the soundtrack for the upcoming film “Trolls 3 – Together Again”.

The quintet, formed by Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone and Lance Bass, ended its activities in 2002.

“A Better Place” evokes the sound of the boy band, an icon of the 90s and 2000s. On the track, each of the five members sings a verse and Timberlake carries the chorus.

In early September, they officially gathered on stage at MTV’s Video Music Awards to present the award for Best Pop Video, a category that Taylor Swift won. In her speech, the singer asked the group if they were planning to do any projects together.

Days later, Timberlake announced that the quintet was in the studio, and posted a behind-the-scenes video of the recording. The post’s caption read: “When the stars align… I brought my brothers back into the studio to work on something fun and the energy was special.”
